One of our country's best rides

Skyline Drive view. Outlanders is nine miles off the Thorton Gap entrance which is just below the Front Royal entrance heading south. This is one of the premier rides any where in the country. Mountains galore, views beyond belief and wild animals. The food on top of the mountain is hearty and  not crowded during the week days. The visitors centers are informative, historic and have tons of information about the best hiking trails and water falls. You can continue south and pick up the road to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Ride the Fort

Fort Valley on list of Top Ten Rides on the East Coast

Turn beside Outlanders store and travel over the Massanutten Range into Fort Valley, great views, fun curves and tranquality. You can drop down onto Route 11 at Edinburgh or continue beside the National Forest and ride to Route 55. Incedible views, tight turns, switch backs, back roads.

STORYBOOK TRAIL

Travel west on Rt. 211 pass Outlanders store then continue toward New Market. at the top of the mountain make a right on Lucas Hollow Road and continue for one mile. You can park in the parking lot on the right. You will see the marker and bridge to Storybook Tail. Walk the trail for approximately 1/4 mile to the overlook. It is incredible, a metal observation deck hangs out over the valley allowing for an amazing view. Huge rocks jut out all around you lending an incredible feeling of ancient times.
